When I was growing up, I was a huge fan of cartoons featuring robots such as Transformers, Macross, Bots Masters, ExoSquad, Go Bots! and Voltron. It was only natural that I grew the desire to build my own robot army to march into battle against the forces of evil! That isn't going to happen, so the best I can do is build an army of robot sprites!
I picked up Spriter pro from Steam quite some time back and have been wanting to give it a go. Spriter is a rigging software used to create sprites that you can directly plug in to game development platforms such as Unity. The software itself was pretty easy to get in to although I have not used it extensively yet ( I believe you can create a whole animated scene! ). I have also included pngs in the download in case you have your own rigging software.
I decided to start with a big brawny robot I will call the BRAWLBOT MK 1! and I create the individual parts of the robot using GIMP.
Poses and spines were referenced from one of the asset packs I purchased along with the core software. Here is a quick gif of the process:
Here are some previews of the finished sprite:

The sprite is completely free for you to use in personal and commercial projects. Give it a whirl!
Also leave some comments if you see something I can improve.
